Maximising Energy Efficiency with Sash Window
Vacuum Glazing Sash Windows London
We are thrilled to introduce our latest offering: timber sash and casement vacuum glazing sash windows. This breakthrough represents a game-changing solution for the fenestration industry, particularly in London, where conservation areas and listed buildings typically require timber replacements. Our energy-efficient sash windows not only meet the aesthetic and regulatory demands of these areas but also offer remarkable energy-saving benefits.
Unlike standard vacuum glass double-glazed windows, vacuum-insulated glazing windows feature a vacuum cavity between the glass panes. This vacuum prevents heat from escaping during cold winter months and stops outdoor heat from entering during the summer, making them high thermal insulation windows. The superior thermal insulation provided by vacuum glazing sash windows reduces the need for heating and cooling, leading to significantly lower energy bills.

New Sash Window System – Slim SS C&W 134 SW42
We’re pleased to share that after several months of development, we’ve officially launched our new sash window system – Slim SS C&W 134 SW42.
This profile has been specially designed for listed buildings, conservation areas, and projects requiring ultra-thin glazing, including slimline and vacuum glass.
It maintains a traditional aesthetic while offering excellent technical performance and high light transmission.
New Sash Window System Launch
Key technical highlights:
• Slimmest applied glazing bar – just 17 mm, available in ovolo, lamb, or square styles
• Profile tailored for thin glazing – maximum internal glazing (glass from Poland) is 16 mm (4/8Ar/4.LE), which means duplex bars cannot be used in these units
• Perfect for putty-effect and vacuum glass – profile geometry is specifically adapted for these solutions
• Optional thicker sash – by increasing sash thickness to 54 mm (with external cutback), glazing units up to 24–25 mm can be used
• Structural glazing bars – 22 mm or 24 mm options remain available for projects requiring a classic “putty-line” effect
Attached are the technical section drawing and photos of the finished window straight from production.

What is Vacuum Insulated Glazing?
Vacuum insulated glazing is an advanced window technology that consists of two glass panes separated by a vacuum-sealed space. This vacuum layer acts as a highly effective barrier against heat transfer, significantly enhancing the window’s thermal insulation properties. Unlike traditional double glazing, which uses inert gases like argon, vacuum insulated glazing relies on the absence of air to minimize heat conduction and convection between the glass layers.
How does vacuum Insulated Glazing work?
Vacuum glazing works by creating a vacuum between two panes of glass, eliminating the medium through which heat typically transfers. In traditional windows, heat loss occurs through conduction (direct heat transfer through the glass) and convection (air movement between the panes). By removing the air and creating a vacuum, these modes of heat transfer are virtually eliminated. Additionally, low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings are often applied to the glass surfaces to further reduce heat loss while allowing natural light to pass through. Transparent spacers keep the glass panes at an optimal distance, ensuring structural integrity.
The key components of Vacuum Glazing include:
• Vacuum Cavity: The core feature of this technology is the vacuum cavity. By removing air between the glass panes, Vacuum Glazing eliminates convection and conduction, the main sources of heat transfer. This results in unmatched thermal insulation and energy efficiency.
• Transparent Spacers: These nearly invisible spacers maintain the optimal distance between the panes, ensuring structural integrity while maximizing light transmission. They preserve the aesthetic appeal of sash windows.
• Low-E Coatings: To further boost energy savings, low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings are applied to the glass. These coatings minimize heat loss while allowing natural light to enter, creating a more comfortable living environment.
Why is Vacuum Insulated Glazing Popular?
Vacuum insulated glazing is popular because it offers superior thermal insulation compared to traditional double or triple glazing, making it an excellent choice for energy-efficient buildings. It allows homeowners to maintain the aesthetic appeal of slim, traditional windows, such as sash windows, without compromising on energy efficiency. Additionally, its ability to reduce noise and prevent condensation, along with its durability and recyclability, make it an attractive and sustainable option for modern construction.
Long Lasting
With no inert gases or organic seals, vacuum insulated glass windows are long-lasting, 100% recyclable, and come with extended warranties, making them a sustainable investment.
Exceptional Energy Efficiency
The vacuum layer provides unparalleled thermal insulation, reducing the need for heating and cooling and leading to lower energy bills.
Ultra Thin
Vacuum insulated glazing is thinner than traditional double glazing, allowing for the retention of traditional window aesthetics without sacrificing energy efficiency.
Vacuum Glazing: Pioneering Window Technology
Vacuum Glazing represents a ground breaking advancement in window technology. Vacuum-insulating glazing not only delivers exceptional energy efficiency but also combines superior thermal insulation with outstanding noise reduction, outperforming conventional insulating glass. It’s a sustainable choice too—100% recyclable, with no inert gases or organic seals ensuring durability.
At the heart of window vacuum glazing is the creation of a vacuum between two glass panes. This vacuum cavity acts as an effective barrier to heat transfer, preventing the exchange of warm indoor air with the colder outdoor environment. Its slim profile, compared to traditional double glazing, preserves the classic look of sash windows while significantly enhancing their energy-saving potential.
Slim, Elegant, and Efficient
The slim, lightweight design of Vacuum Glazing maintains the elegance of traditional windows while providing superior insulation. With a thermal insulation value of 0.7W/m²K, equivalent to triple glazing and up to 8 times more efficient than single glazing, Vacuum Glazing turns your windows into invisible radiators, keeping warmth in and cold out.
