Victorian or Georgian houses in London tend to still have their original sash windows made of solid wood. Therefore, although they may look acceptable, they are probably very difficult to operate as they are likely to be warped, damaged and rotten. It’s also very unlikely that effective thermal and noise insulation was possible when they were originally made. For that reason, they are simply unlikely to be as effective as modern, double-glazed and effectively insulated sash windows made of engineered wood. The owner of this beautiful property in Balham decided that it’s high time to get rid of their ancient sash windows and trusted us with replacing them for our great sashes.
